BB #9: Solar Eclipse, Bookish Affirmations + Reading Update
It’s been quite the week! Between cleaning up from Hurricane Helene and keeping an eye on today’s solar eclipse, things have definitely been eventful. But don’t worry, I’ve still packed this edition with all the cozy, bookish goodness you need to get through the week. Here’s what you’ll find inside:

What’s New This Week
First things first: a quick update from last week! We were lucky to avoid a direct hit from Hurricane Helene, but the storm still made its presence felt. While it was over 100 miles away from the Tampa Bay area, we still got around 2 feet of storm surge in the house. Thankfully, it only affected the garage, but it’s been all hands on deck with cleanup. My heart goes out to everyone experiencing catastrophic damage from the storm—we were one of the lucky ones, and I’m incredibly grateful for that. We’re safe, we’re good, and the books survived. 😉
On a lighter (and cosmic) note, today—October 2, 2024—we’ve got a solar eclipse happening! It’s visible in the southern hemisphere, but whether you can see it or not, let’s talk about what a solar eclipse means. 🌘
In astrology, eclipses are all about change, transformation, and embracing the unexpected. They can shake things up in ways you didn’t see coming, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes, it’s exactly what we need to push us forward. Think of it like the moment in a romance novel when everything flips—what seemed like an impossible relationship suddenly finds its footing. Eclipses are the ultimate plot twists, and if you’re feeling the vibes today, maybe it’s time to lean into that energy and let the universe shake things up for you too. Who knows? This might be the week your TBR pile gets a major glow-up, or you finally find that perfect enemies-to-lovers book you’ve been waiting for!
Last week we also lost the great actress Maggie Smith.
And while I didn’t get a lot of fun stuff coming across my FYP this week (lots of doomscrolling honestly), for fans of spoken word and those needing a bit of a swoon today, I leave you with this.
