What’s New This Week
I love this time of year because it’s right smack in the middle of two of my favorite holidays. Halloween is just around the corner but the Christmas spirit is also creeping in. While I’m not in decorating mood this year, there’s always something comforting around this time of year.
This edition is all about Halloween (and a touch of Christmas) but I also wanted to wish all who celebrate a happy early Diwali! Celebrated October 31 thru November 1, 2024.
Diwali is primarily a Hindu festival (also celebrated by Sikhs, Jains, and some Buddhists) and is known as the Festival of Lights. It celebrates the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. Diwali’s traditions include lighting oil lamps, creating colorful rangolis, and enjoying sweets with family, with each day having its own set of customs and stories based on regional practices.
While this isn’t a Halloween related festivity, we do have some spooky traditions around the world later on in this newsletter.
Now for the fun TikTok’s I found for you guys this week. ;) Author Kristen Granata shared (back in August) the text messages and dedication from a biker boy on TikTok that she messaged for research help. I swear that I just have to read the book just for how into it he was.
The book? Puck Pact by Kristen Granata.
And wouldn’t this be the way to grab a bookworm girlie?
